It's 2017. As we look back on a decade and a half of challenges and opportunities, what is our professional legacy? Ulla de Stricker comments on the urgent need for "monitoring the future" in order for librarians to inhabit a "fourth dimension" of public and personal life as a vital force in the ongoing success and well-being of our communities. This session was originally commissioned by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners as part of its June 2002 Futures Institute. It was very positively received, and Dynix Institute is pleased to bring it to a wider audience.
